Bidders Drive Big Results at the Great Estate Auction: Top 5 Standouts
Competitive bidding set the tone for a memorable Great Estate Auction, where collectors pursued exceptional works of art, sculpture, and silver with remarkable enthusiasm. Two luminous oil paintings by celebrated artist G. Harvey led the way, far surpassing their estimates and underscoring the enduring appeal of his atmospheric scenes. Contemporary bronze sculpture also drew spirited attention, as Walter Matia’s finely detailed Dry Wind captured the imagination of buyers. Important decorative arts held their own as well, with a rare Gorham sterling silver service earning strong results alongside a graceful Daniel Gerhartz canvas that rounded out the top five.
