Featured Team Member: Carole Washington

With over 20 years of executive retail fashion experience, Carole Washington has been bringing her impeccable sense of flair and vast designer knowledge to The Magnusson Group for several years.  Her talent for preparing and transforming Closets and Homes into successful sales was established at firms such as Saks and Bloomingdale’s. Carole’s elegant design sense helps our client’s designer furniture, clothing and accessories fly out the door at our Estate Sales and Auctions. Carole also coordinates professional fashion shows for the benefit of charities, foundations and nonprofit organizations.

We asked Carole a few questions so our Magnusson community can get to know her better!

What do you do for fun? I love to entertain for any reason at any time. Bringing people together, especially those of diverse backgrounds, makes for interesting gatherings. I enjoy setting a beautiful table, creating a welcoming ambiance, and of course, offering food and drink.  I am not a cook but, my generous friends are always available to help with the menu.

What do you collect? Having spent my entire career in fashion I have been able to find unique and beautiful things. I love luxurious fabrics and wonderful china, particularly Delft pieces. I have a passion for jewelry whether it be interesting costume pieces or fine gold and gemstones. My tastes are very eclectic and that reflects in my home and personal style. 

Why did you choose to work for The Magnusson Group? Throughout my career I have garnered extensive knowledge about fashion. At The Magnusson Group, I can employ my fashion expertise to help clients discover a treasure they did not expect to find at an estate sale.  Working with The Magnusson Team and their diversified clients has been very fulfilling.

What is your favorite vacation spot or trip? I love to travel to beautiful places with people I love. From Canada to South America; from Europe to South Africa. It is a privilege to travel, meet new people and learn about unique cultures. And of course, to return home with something special to add to my collections is always a treat.

Tell us about your pets? My Golden Doodle Spencer is not only my friend but my 'anchor to windward'.  He is always there to give me unconditional love and affection.
