Featured Team Member: Lori Fedkenheuer

The Magnusson Group is proud to announce that Client Liaison Lori Fedkenheuer was selected by the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors to receive their 2021 “Affiliate of the Year” Award.  The Award is bestowed upon an Affiliate Member who has contributed significant time and effort in support of the NCJAR’s community service initiatives.

Lori is the Magnusson team member that many Realtors, and most Estate Sale Clients and Customers will interact with before, during and after their Sale.  The energy and humor that she brings to each Estate Sale makes our customers feel like a part of the family. She is the Point of Sale Team Member you meet at the Sale’s exit. Lori has a B.A. in Journalism Studies from Montclair State University and spent many years working in print media before joining The Magnusson Group in 2014.  When not working with the Team, Lori enjoys hiking, bike riding, camping and especially treasure-hunting on the weekends with her husband, Glenn. NCJAR Affiliate Members sponsor events, education, and the humanitarian efforts of the Association working side by side with the Realtor® members to assist the consumer in fulfilling the American Dream of homeownership. Lori’s dedication to her profession, to her community and to the REALTOR organization exemplifies what Affiliate membership is all about. She is always available to assist with the many fundraisers and charity drives for NCJAR®. She attends the monthly Affiliate meetings and is a positive influence among her Affiliate and Realtor® peers. Lori truly exemplifies the “Team Spirit” of both The Magnusson Group and the NCJAR Realtor® Affiliates.   Both are very proud to have her as a member of their families.

We asked Lori a few questions so our Magnusson community can get to know her better!

What are your Hobbies/Passions/Volunteering? I am genuinely devoted to my community and I enjoy giving back and helping those who are in need.  For 13 years I served as a Girl Scout leader which resulted in five girls earning their Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scout.  Additionally, I still continue to participate in food, clothing and coat drives.

What is something no one would ever guess about you? I am the 10th of 13 children!  I was raised in a very loving home by amazing parents.  I was taught to appreciate what I had, make do with what was at hand and not to be wasteful.  Being resourceful and frugal was our way of life and if someone needed help, it was our duty to help.  I have 8 sisters and 4 brothers and our bond is strong.  There were times when we didn't have it all together but now, we have it all.

How has Covid-19 affected or changed you? COVID has drastically changed our lives and has affected all of us differently.  Our mother passed away right when things shut down.  My family and I were unable to come together for her funeral and that was heartbreaking.  But along came Zoom and everything changed.   We were able to connect across five states and three time zones to have a virtual Celebration of Life.  Since then, we Zoom every weekend for one to two hours.  We host virtual happy hours, birthday parties, Mary Kay facials and mani-pedi parties just for fun, but mostly we are there to support each other when things get rough.  The virtual sessions have become the highlight of my week, and as a result my siblings and I are closer than we have ever been.  I also enjoy FaceTime with my two awesome kids, Leigh Ann and Danny.  They are my greatest treasures!
