Nathan Buchek

Nathan Buchek is The Magnusson Group’s Director of Operations as well as Appraiser and Project Manager. He manages the operations of our gallery in Morristown, and assists in the preparation of estate sales, on-line auctions and appraisals. Before working in the art world, Nathan was an attorney that litigated trademark, copyright, patent and contract matters in Federal Courts across the country. After a decade of legal practice, Nathan switched gears to study at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and graduated as the class valedictorian in its Art Business program. While at Sotheby’s Institute, he worked at an international appraisal firm and appraised a wide variety of fine and decorative art and objects. After graduation, he was appointed as the head of the Fine Arts Department for a regional auction house. Nathan then went to Sotheby’s New York Headquarters and worked in Business Development and Operations. Nathan has a JD from Fordham University School of Law where he was a Notes and Articles Editor for its Intellectual Property Law journal. Nathan also has a BFA in Painting and a BA in Asian Studies (Japan) from Cornell University. When not spending time with his family in Glen Rock, Nathan can usually be found behind his drum kit.
